Description
Brown teff flour is a nutritious grain originating from Ethiopia and it has been grown there for thousands of years, since 2002 it has been grown by a company in the Netherlands. Teff flour is often used in gluten-free baking products, at Happy Belly we use both light and brown teff. It provides a slightly nutty flavor and a fine texture, it ferments very well and gives a pleasant acidity to the bread. In Ethiopia, teff is traditionally used to make injera, a nutritious, spongy flatbread. Due to its excellent nutritional value and versatility in baking, teff is gaining popularity worldwide as a healthy and flavorful alternative to other grains.
This gluten-free grain is rich in fiber, protein, and essential minerals such as calcium, iron, and magnesium, contributing to healthy bone structure and energy metabolism. Brown teff flour is also high in resistant starch, which is beneficial for blood sugar and intestinal health.
